A stock is a tradable security that represents ownership in a publicly-traded company.
Stocks entitles the owner to a proportion of companies wealth which is measured in the form of shares. Companies sold Stocks on the stock market exchange to grow and invest in their business, and investors invest in stocks to earn revenue from the company's profits.
