BIP39
Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) 39 implements mnemonic code to easily backup and restore deterministic wallets.
BIP39 introduced mnemonic phrases- a list of easy to remember words converted into a binary seed/recovery phrase. The recovery phrase is later used to generate a deterministic wallet that quickly allows users to recover their Bitcoin funds.
